Live Music, Food Trucks Featured At Duluth Art Week Kickoff
Duluth kicks off Art Week 2018 with a two-day juried Arts Festival presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces on April 28 and 29.
DULUTH, GA – Duluth kicks off Art Week 2018 with a two-day juried Arts Festival presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces on April 28 and 29. Live music and food trucks will accompany the event along with 60 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalworkers, glass blowers, jewelers, and crafters.
“We love hosting this event because we get to engage with our community over ART; even our local businesses love to participate” said Event Coordinator Madison Chucci.
Chattahoochee Yoga will be offering free morning yoga classes on April 28 and May 5 as part of Duluth Art Week. Registration is required. Chick-Fil-A will offer a “Sip & Sketch” class for art enthusiasts to enjoy from 4-6 p.m. Registration is required and must be submitted by April 18. “Ignite Your Heart” with colorful tree wrappings and origami art pieces on Duluth Town Green on April 30.

On May 1 “Tweet and Go Seek” returns with hidden art pieces around Duluth City limits for a fun scavenger hunt for all to enjoy. The hunt begins in the afternoon when clues are posted on the City of Duluth’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/cityofduluth/.

May 2 will feature a “Community Art Project” where residents are encouraged to come to Duluth Town Green’s parking lot for a canvas painting project from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Then residents can attend a free “Make and Take Art Project” at Eye Candy Art Studio from 5-7 p.m. on May 3. Later, listen to live music in Parsons Alley from 6-8 p.m. and check out a performance by Miss Cindy’s Dance Studio. Enjoy the Duluth Fine Arts League ART Walk & a Lantern Walk at Duluth’s Food Truck Friday on May 4th. Artists will showcase their pieces in Parsons Alley while residents have the option to make lanterns free of cost with SKA Academy on Duluth Town Green. The lantern walk will have a New Orleans twist.
The weeklong event will wrap up with an award winning theatrical performance by Aurora Theatre. The musical play “HairSpray” will hit the Duluth Festival Center stage at 8 p.m. The show is free to the public however VIP tables are available. For more information, visit //www.duluthga.net/artweek.
“Eat Like a Local” will go on all week as local restaurants showcase what food Duluth has to offer. Chattahoochee Yoga will offer a 10 percent discount off passes for all to enjoy for the entire week as well.
