People Can Still Attend Duluth Citizens Police Academy
The classes begin in January 2014.

Vacancies still exist for people to attend the Duluth Citizens Police Academy early in 2014, according to officials.
The course will run from Jan. 23 through May 24, 2014, according to a city news release. The classes will meet on Thursdays, 7-10 p.m. at department headquarters at 3276 Buford Highway, 30096.
The goal of the academy is to enhance communication and understanding between the department and citizens, the release said. Citizens will participate and learn about the department, its mission and goals, and the men and women of the department serving the community on a daily basis.
People must be at least 21 years old to participate, and residents in the city limits will be given first priority. Also, participants must submit to a criminal background check.
Interested persons should contact Major Don Woodruff, dwoodruff@duluthpd.com, or (678) 512-3705.
