Here's the local news:

1) There is a new ramen shop coming to town! Samurai Ramen is promising to bring all natural ramen to Duluth this summer. They claim to make their ramen with no added dairy or MSG. (Atlanta Eater)

3) The COVID-19 pandemic has brought along one of the highest unemployment rates our area has seen in quite a few years. To help solve this issue, Sprouts is conducting phone interviews at its nearby Buford location. They have a total of 100 positions open. (Patch)

4) After a year of hybrid learning, Gwinnett County Public Schools are seeing its highest ever surge of students and teachers participating in summer school. 32,000 students across the district are currently taking classes to get caught up for the upcoming school year. This effort could not have been done without the efforts of local teachers and parents who see the importance of education. (AJC)

5) Tropical Storm Claudette made landfall this past weekend, making the area dark and gloomy for the past few days. One local duplex was affected by lightning hitting a powerline connected to the home and causing a house fire. No injuries were reported after the 10-minute fire, but there was significant damage to the house. (Patch)
