thredUP Bringing 300 New Jobs To Gwinnett

The San Francisco-based online retailer held the grand opening of a distribution center in Duluth on Tuesday.

DULUTH, GA — San Francisco-based online retailer thredUP officially opened its distribution center in Duluth on Tuesday.

The center, at 2670 Breckinridge Blvd. in Duluth, is expected to bring 300 jobs to the area.

State and local officials attended a ribbon-cutting at the center on Tuesday.

"We viewed 20 buildings in the Atlanta area before choosing the facility in Gwinnett County. We've chosen Duluth, Georgia because we believe its location is ideal for us to continue to improve the thredUP experience for our customers in the southeastern region," said John Voris, Chief Operating Officer at thredUP.

"The team we’ve hired is hardworking and deeply engaged in our mission. We are excited to continue to bring more job opportunities for people throughout the area," Voris added. "We are excited to continue to bring more job opportunities for people throughout the area."

thredUP is an online marketer of secondhand women's and children's clothing.

The company pioneered the Clean Out Bag, a way for consumers to sell clothes they are no longer wearing.

thredUP accepts clothing from more than 25,000 women's and children's brands and resells the items for up to 90 percent off the original retail prices.

The Duluth location is thredUP's fourth distribution center and will be an access point for the southeastern United States.
