Ask Physical Therapists Questions at Walk with a PT on Aug. 4
-- Walk will be held at Piedmont Park Active Oval on Aug. 4 from 9-10 a.m. --

PT Move Better, Feel Better, Live Better, a consumer education initiative sponsored by the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG), will host a “Walk with a PT” event on Aug. 4 at the Piedmont Park Active Oval in Atlanta. The walk is free to attend and will begin at 9 a.m. The event will have free Chick-fil-A®, T-shirts and giveaways for attendees.
The walk is designed for Georgians to learn more about the benefits of physical therapy (PT) which can effectively manage pain, improve mobility and even provide an alternative to surgery, by taking a “walk with a PT” around the park’s active oval and asking any questions they have about physical therapy.
“We are hosting this walk to help demonstrate how easy it is to incorporate physical therapy into one’s health regimen,” says Ryan Balmes president of PTAG. “We hope Walk with a PT encourages Georgians to engage with their local physical therapists and learn how they can move better, feel better and live better.”

“Working regularly with a physical therapist can be just as beneficial as daily exercise. For people who have ever wondered if physical therapy might be the next best step, this will be an opportunity for them to meet physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in their area and ask hard questions about how PT can help improve their life from improved mobility to even a better golf swing,” says Balmes.
In Georgia, consumers can see a physical therapist without prior referral from a physician, allowing greater access to the many benefits of physical therapy. For additional information or to find a PT, please visit www.ptagonline.org.
Physical therapists are evidence-based health care professionals who offer cost-effective treatment that improves mobility and relieves pain, reduces the need for surgery and prescription drugs, and allows patients to participate in a recovery plan designed for their specific needs.
