Atlanta-Filmed 'Black Panther' Ranks No. 3 In Marvel Trailer Views
Marvel released its Atlanta-filmed 'Black Panther' trailer over the weekend -- and it's going gangbusters.
ATLANTA, GA -- On the heels of Marvel Studios' recent release of the first teaser trailer for "Black Panther," the video ranks third in the studio's most-watched trailers of all time, according to news reports.
Released on Thursday night, "Black Panther" went bonkers on social media, garnering 89 million views in its first 24 hours, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, which will hit theaters in 2018, figures to be a blockbuster for Marvel, the undisputed leader in superhero movies.
The trailer which debuted during game 4 of the NBA Finals game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, got 19 millions views in real-time from basketball game-watchers, THC reports. It ranks just behind Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" as its most-watched trailer ever (136 million views), the website reports.

"Black Panther" stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the king and protector of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. The film features an all-star African-American cast, including Angela Bassett, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o.
Patch has been frequently reporting casting calls for "Black Panther" in the Atlanta area. Scores of Atlantans may see themselves on the big screen when the film debuts.

The film, directed by Ryan Coogler ("Creed") is set to be released on Feb. 16, 2018.
