Cold Front Bringing Winds, Storms to Metro Atlanta

Expect temperatures to drop as the front moves through on Wednesday. And then batten down the hatches for the overnight hours.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- A cold front is expected to move through metro Atlanta on Wednesday, bringing with it colder temperatures, high winds and rain.

A few severe storms are possible in northwest Georgia after 8 pm, according to the National Weather Service.

The cooler temperatures are expected to last through the weekend.

The biggest chance for rain and storms in metro Atlanta comes during the late evening to overnight hours, beginning after 10 pm. Winds could reach between 10 to 15 mph.

Highs on Wednesday are expected to reach 69 in metro Atlanta, falling into the 40s and 50s tonight with a 90 percent chance of rain. Thursday is clear with highs into the upper 60s.
