Dunwoody Woman Robbed At Knifepoint: Police

She told officers the man jumped out of a gold van and threatened to cut her if she didn't hand over her money.

DUNWOODY, GA — A woman in Dunwoody was robbed on Friday when a man jumped out of a van, grabbed her and threatened to cut her with a knife, according to police.

The robbery happened at about 6 p.m. Friday in the area of Withmere Way and Withmere Lane, according to the Dunwoody Police Department. The woman told officers that her attacker jumped out of a gold, older-model van and grabbed her near the intersection.

He then demanded she hand over her money, threatening to cut her with a knife if she didn't, she told police. The woman was not injured in the robbery.

The victim described the attacker as a dark-skinned black male, from 16-18 years old, standing about 5'8"-5'9" and weighing about 170-180 pounds. He was wearing gray pants, no shirt and black Nike sandals, she said. She said he had a short, mohawk-style haircut and a scar on his jaw line.

She also said the van had unusually loud exhaust.
