Family Living Without Furnace Needs Your Help

A Dunwoody mother and two children are living without a working furnace. An online fundraiser started by Crossroads Church aims to help.

Crossroads Church of Dunwoody has started an online fundraiser to help replace a furnace for a family living without heat this winter.

Church secretary Monica Dennis recently contacted the Dunwoody Police Department, which is donating $500 to help with the effort. A woman and her two children have reportedly been abandoned by the family’s husband and father, and are living on a limited income.

“As the secretary of Crossroads Church of Dunwoody, I have witnessed the generosity and compassion of this amazing community. I am now reaching out to this community to help in a dire situation. Crossroads was recently contacted by the neighbor of a Dunwoody resident. This resident and her two children are living without heat. Abandoned by her husband, no family, and working on a very limited income, $3800 to replace her unit is a daunting task. Crossroads obtained a couple of different estimates and sadly the $3800 is what it will take to get the furnace running again. Please find attached a picture of this precious family. As temperatures begin to plummet the thought of these beautiful people without heat is a difficult one.”
