Johns Creek Robbery Suspect Shot, Killed By Cops In Dunwoody: PD
Police found the robbery suspect in a Walmart parking lot in Dunwoody.

DUNWOODY, GA — An armed robbery suspect out of Johns Creek was shot and killed by police in Dunwoody Saturday morning after being located in a Walmart parking lot where police say he refused to comply with officers' verbal commands and exited the vehicle, according to Dunwoody Police.
Police responded to the Walmart parking lot at 5025 Winters Chapel Road around 7:45 a.m. Police were advised that a suspect in an armed robbery, which took place at the Kroger on 8465 Holcomb Bridge in Johns Creek, had pulled in to the parking lot.
According to police, the suspect forced his way into a register at Kroger before fleeing the location. A witness to the armed robbery followed the suspect to the Walmart parking lot where Dunwoody police and a Johns Creek police officer located the car and the suspect.

"When confronted by officers, the suspect did not comply with their verbal commands and exited the vehicle," police said in a news release. "Fearing for his safety and the safety of others, an officer fired one shot striking the suspect."
The suspect was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police have not identified the suspect.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation and the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave.
