Suspect In Dunwoody Fatal Shooting Killed Following Police Chase
Police chased the suspect into Clayton County, where he was involved in a fatal crash.
DUNWOODY, GA -- The suspect in Monday morning's deadly shooting outside a luxury apartment complex was killed following a police chase. According to Dunwoody police, the suspect, identified only as a 42-year-old male from Ellenwood, Georgia, died after his vehicle was involved in a crash Monday afternoon in Clayton County.
Police said the suspect was involved in a fatal shooting Monday morning that claimed the life of a 45-year-old male resident of the Arrive Perimeter apartment complex off Ashford-Dunwoody Road. The victim was found shot to death around 5:30 am Monday after police received numerous 911 calls regarding screaming and shots fired. .
Police said both men knew each. Dunwoody and DeKalb police went to Ellenwood to locate the suspect, who, according to police, fled in a vehicle. After being pursued into Clayton County, police said the suspect was involved in a vehicle accident and died from his injuries.
