Meet Sunny, a Delightful Senior Cat!

Hi, my name is Sunny! I am a big, handsome, Maine Coon mix with a gorgeous, long, orange and white tabby coat, and beautiful green eyes. As you can see, I like to pose for photographers, and it’s not at all uncommon to find me sprawled out atop a cat tree with my arms sticking straight out. Sadly, I’ve been at the Furkids cat shelter for several years and keep wondering when some kind person will provide me with a real forever home.

I’m a bit of a shy, docile boy initially, but will come out of my shell once I get to know you. I’m part of a special program called “Purrkids”, in which volunteers spend one-on-one time with me and other shy kitties in order to help us build trust and become more sociable. I’ve made quite a bit of progress and have become much more outgoing and confident. In fact, you’d hardly call me shy at all now. I look forward to visitors and am often waiting at the door to greet them. I love to be petted and get head scratches, and may even roll over and show you my fluffy, cream colored belly. I’m basically I quiet, easy going sort of cat who would be content with a cat tree or perch for climbing and sleeping, a window for bird watching, regular brushing to maintain my luxurious coat, and loving human companionship. I get along fine with my kitty roommates at the shelter, but would do best in a relatively low stress home without dogs or young, rambunctious kids.

I’m considered a senior cat at eight years old, although you’d never it know it with my frisky, playful nature. December is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and cats and dogs 8+ years old have $0 adoption fees! So brighten your day and bring a little sunshine into your life!
