New Home for Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Center

TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation has a new home in Sandy Springs. The non-profit has moved from Johns Creek to 8010 Roswell Road, near Northridge Road.

An open house will be held from 3-7 p.m., on Oct. 24.

The new facility features a full gym for aerobic and cardiovascular exercises, five treatment rooms and a conference room to host their education and advocacy programs. 

TurningPoint was established in 2003 in response to the unmet survivorship needs of women with breast cancer in Greater Atlanta. The organization provides specialized and evidence-based rehabilitation for women with breast cancer, including physical therapy, massage therapy, counseling and nutritional counseling.   

"I'm most excited about the fact we'll be [able] to reach and impact a much larger number of breast cancer patients in need of the critical rehabilitative services offered by TurningPoint," said Jill Binkley, founder and executive director, in a media statement. "Plans for this move have been in the works close to a year now…”

TurningPoint supports more than 3,000 patient visits annually and anticipates an additional 300 patients coming through their doors this year.  

More than half of the women served receive some kind of financial assistance, and no patient is ever turned away for being underinsured or uninsured.  TurningPoint also has specific outreach programs that serve inner-city and minority women. 

The third annual "Tourney for TurningPoint" fundraiser will be held Oct.13-14 at the Dunwoody Country Club. In addition, the inaugural Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Multi-Disciplinary Conference will be held Friday, Nov. 8, at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead.
