Dunwoody police and a rescue crew were called Tuesday to help get a man down from a tree after he jumped from a church bell tower.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A Dunwoody man climbed a church bell tower Tuesday and wouldn’t come down. Police were on the scene at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church with rescue crews to help him. He jumped from the top of the church building to an adjacent tree, they said.
He was safely removed from the tree and taken to a hospital. They shared a photo online from the scene.
Police told WSB that the Dunwoody man walked into the preschool at the church on Mt. Vernon Road around noon. The children were moved to another part of the church as police attempted to get the man down.
