Teen Girl Stabbed To Death In Dunwoody, Brother Charged

A 27-year-old man called police and turned himself in minutes after the stabbing was discovered Monday afternoon.

DUNWOODY, GA — A 15-year old girl was stabbed to death in Dunwoody on Monday and, minutes later, her brother called police to turn himself in.

At 3:21 p.m., Dunwoody Police responded to a call to 6682 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., where a caller to 911 said a man was hitting a woman in front of his apartment. An officer at the scene discovered the body of Keaira Henderson, 15, in the hallway of the apartment building.

Henderson appeared to have been stabbed several times, according to police.

At 3:29 p.m., police say, Keaira's brother, 27-year-old Gavin Denzell Henderson, called 911 from a nearby address and told them he wanted to turn himself in. He was found by officers moments later and surrendered without incident.

Police say a knife believed to be the murder weapon was found at the time of Gavin Henderson's arrest He was taken to Dunwoody Police Department, where he was charged with felony murder, first-degree cruelty to children and aggravated assault with the intent to murder.

He was taken to DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held. Police say the motivation for the attack remains under investigation.
