Two Residential Towers Proposed in Dunwoody

A rezoning request for a 380-unit development is in the works.

DUNWOODY, GA -- A plan to develop two massive residential towers in Dunwoody is working its way through the city’s rezoning process.

The proposed 380-unit development would be at the site of the old Gold Kist near Best Buy and Rooms to Go, according to Heneghan’s Dunwoody Blog, near I-285 and Ashford-Dunwoody Road.

Longtime Atlanta developer Charlie Brown is proposing the project, which is in its early pre-application phase.

In his blog, Heneghan expressed his concerns about the proposal:

“The first is associated with the 285/400 project as the final right of way drawings have yet to be released and if this section of the property is squeezed or narrowed by a right of way taking, there may only be room for one residential tower,” he said. ”If that happens, the developer would like to build just one 40 story tower with a hotel on the bottom third of the building.

“The second unknown is the fact that drawings provided by the developer do not take into consideration that there are plans on the table for a $20 million dollar Westside Connector proposal that I believe should be an integral part of this development.”
