A group of local residents and neighbors are participating in an effort to improve the Atlanta BeltLine, a movement that has gained quite a bit of traction on social media since it began this past Sunday.

According to WABE, the volunteers hammered plywood onto unused railroad ties near Adair Park to create a bikeable surface of about 200 feet.

The residents say they are frustrated with the lack of progress on the Beltline’s Westside Trail, which has been closed for some time now.

The group is calling their effort, #BoardtheBeltline, and many in the realm of social media are urging similar efforts on other parts of the Beltline, including portions in Grant and Ormewood parks.
