Decatur Man Arrested For Allegedly Gunning Down Boy For His Backpack
The DeKalb Sheriff's Fugitive Unit apprehended Adaren Kemond Carter, 21, of Decatur on Wednesday at a gas station in the death of a teen.
LITHONIA, GA -- A 21-year-old man wanted in the slaying of a teenager was arrested this week in Atlanta, DeKalb County authorities announced Thursday.
Members of the DeKalb Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit apprehended Adaren Kemond Carter of Decatur on Wednesday at a gas station in Atlanta, according to a news release. The shooting occurred May 7 in Lithonia on Cody Court off Wellborn Road, authorities said.

Carter was detained by sheriff's deputies without incident Wednesday at the gas station, located at the corner of Cluster Avenue SE and Eastland Road.
Warrants for Carter's arrest on felony murder and armed robbery charges were issued last week.
