Drew Charter School Celebrates First-Ever Graduating Class
Drew Charter Schools on Friday will celebrate its first-ever graduating class.
EAST ATLANTA, GA -- When students from Drew Charter Schools walk across the stage later this month for their commencement ceremony, it will mark the institution's first-ever graduating class.
Charles R. Drew Charter School, which opened in 2000 as the city’s first public charter school, has seen its graduates come in as kindergarteners fashioned for higher education. Eighty-two students are set to graduate on Saturday, May 20 at 4 p.m. at the school's gymnasium on 900 East Lake Boulevard.
Friday is Senior Decision Day, where students in the graduating class decide where they will attend college. The event follows Senior Awards Day, which honored soon-to-be graduates for their academic success.
