East Atlanta Gets Ready to Strut

The annual East Atlanta Strut is set for this weekend in the village.

The 18th annual East Atlanta Strut is set for this Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 am to 9 pm in East Atlanta Village.

The Strut is a nonprofit organization that plans, organizes and staffs the festival solely by volunteers to show off the place where they love to live.

Things to know:

Included in the event is a classic car show, live local music, adult game area featuring contests of strength, stamina and beard growth, artists market, the famous Strut parade, free kids village, community booths, food and beverages.

Alcoholic beverages will only be served to attendees 21 and older with a valid photo ID. You’ll need to show an age-verified wristband to get a drink. Wristbands cost $5 and will be available at festival entrances, the central information booth and at the restaurants and bars listed below. The first 1,500 wristbands from a Strut sales point will come with a souvenir koozie.

Safe Ride America will be on hand with discounts if you need a safe ride home.

Leave the car or motorbike at home. Walk, bike or take public transport. Parking will be limited to neighborhood side streets. Free bike parking will be available at the Village Fitness lot on Glenwood near Moreland Avenue.

No dogs except for service dogs and dogs in the Strut Parade.
