Jaila Allen earns membership in prestigious 2017 Bank of America Student Leaders program. She is one of 5 Georgians to achieve the feat.

EAST ATLANTA, GA -- An East Lake teenager has been chosen as just one of five students in Georgia and 225 nationwide to participate in the 2017 Bank of America Student Leaders program, Patch has learned. Jaila Allen notched the prestigious Washington, D.C.-based summer youth employment initiative, which includes an eight-week internship at the East Lake Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to further economic and academic opportunities in the local neighborhood.
Jaila is no stranger to big accomplishments: She made history earlier this year when she was part of Drew Charter High School’s inaugural graduating class of 2017. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and Elite Women of Excellence.
She plans to enroll in the fall at Brandeis University, where she aims to double major in sociology and women, gender and sexuality studies, according to a news release.
