None of the victims in the 4:24 p.m. robbery at 1981 Flat Shoals Road SE was injured, but the gunmen made off with $5,000.
Police gave the following account:
A man came into the Chevron store, approached the cash register to purchase a pack of cigarillos.

The man gave the cashier $5. When the cashier opened the register drawer, the man jumped through the window of the cashier cage, drew a gun against the Chevron worker and took money from the cash register and the one next to it.
As the gunman took the cash, a second man stood guard at the door, armed with a gun.

The third robber remained in the getaway vehicle.
A customer in the store reported that the gunmen ordered everyone in the store to get on the floor.
Police did not have detailed descriptions of the gunmen, except that they were black, but the incident was captured on surveillance video at the store.
The robbers fled the scene in a green-colored vehicle, possibly a Mitsubishi Galant or Plymouth Valiant.
