The man had been arrested and was attempting to escape from police custody.

A handcuffed man who jumped from a downtown office building Tuesday morning is dead, according to WSB-TV.
The AJC says the unidentified man had been taken into police custody and was trying to flee a downtown pretrial facility when he fell three or four stories onto the sidewalk below.
The incident took place at 34 Peachtree Street, near Woodruff Park. Police told the AJC the man was there for a “pretrial intervention” related to a drug charge, but was arrested when a weapon was found in the building that belonged to him.
