MARTA Bush Crash Injures Dozen

A car ran a stop sign and hit the bus, which was then pushed into oncoming traffic and hit by another vehicle.

A dozen people in two different vehicles were injured when a MARTA bus was hit by a car which ran a stop sign on Thursday afternoon, police said.

East Point police say the driver of a silver car drove through the stop sign at Delowe Drive and West Woodbury Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. and smashed into the bus. The bus was forced into oncoming traffic by the power of the impact and was hit again by an SUV, WSB-TV says.

Eight people on the bus and four people in the car were treated for minor injuries.
