KIRKWOOD — There will be a rally this Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. in Coan Park (southeast corner ballfield, Woodbine Avenue and & Hosea L. Williams Dr.) in support of APD Officer Christopher Smith, wounded in the shotgun attack targeting uniformed officers in NPU-O (Edgewood, Kirkwood, East Lake) and in support of all APD officers serving South East Atlanta and the City at large.
The rally will also focus on the need of IMMEDIATE measures to protect the schools, communities, and police officers of South East Atlanta from the increase of violent crime in our neighborhoods. Now is the time for the residents of SE Atlanta to stand together and communicate to our elected officials that our public safety is critical to the future of our community and those that serve and protect it. We urgently need our elected officials help to provide the resources necessary to protect our families, our law enforcement officers, and our neighborhoods!
