Sponsor school supplies for a student in need

Though July is just now heating up, it won't be long before some of us are preparing to send our kids back to school. For others, however, there's not much in the way of preparation because monetary challenges prohibit parents from purchasing what can be a daunting list of supplies for their kids. I know; I got my first list from APS last year and my purchases came to more than $60!

But thanks to the Center for Working Families, which serves five economically-vulnerable neighborhoods in Southwest Atlanta (or NPU-V as you might be aware), students in that area will have the opportunity to receive a free backpack full of supplies at the Center's annual Back to School Fun Fest on July 26. We need your help to give away our goal of 500 backpacks. For $25 each, you can sponsor a back pack full of school supplies for a child in need.

Please consider donating here and help a student, or five, today!

Not only is this area of Atlanta one of the city's hardest-hit in terms of unemployment and poverty, it's just west of my own neighborhood. The Center's mission, and the hard-working families it serves, is near and dear to my heart, which is why I serve on the Board of Directors.

Thank you for considering this small, but so worthy, donation.
