Woman Assaulted in East Atlanta

The woman was walking along East Lake Boulevard near Glenwood Avenue when she was attacked.

ATLANTA, GA — Police are looking for a man who is suspected of assaulting a woman in East Atlanta.

According to Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta, the victim was walking on East Lake Boulevard when a red vehicle approached. The vehicle stopped behind her and a male driver asked for her phone number. She ignored the male and continued to walk south towards Glenwood Avenue.

The man turned the vehicle around and drove in the southbound lane following the victim for a short distance. The suspect exited the vehicle holding a black handgun and pointed it at the victim ordering her to get into the vehicle. The victim got into the passenger seat of the vehicle then the suspect drove a short distance away before ordering the victim out of the vehicle.

The suspect made the victim walk behind the church on Memorial Drive, then sexually assaulted the victim and left the location in his vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male with light complexion; wearing a red tank top with white trim and white writing; green shorts that were frayed as if they may be cut offs; white Adidas shoes; and with tattoos on his collar bone and both arms.
