On the day before the end of the world, good and evil – in the forms of one saintly Rachel Parrish (Kristin Kalbli) and one dastardly Harry Blackpool (Bob Smith) – have their usual quarter century meeting, during which they discuss their retirement and as of yet oblivious heirs. As children are wont to do, Adam Blackpool and Tiffany Parrish (Stephen Ray DeVillers and Suzanne Zoller) have strayed from their parents’ expectations and are as different from their parents as they can be. With Armageddon scheduled for teatime tomorrow, the kindly PE Teacher and the violently Bohemian artist square off in a series of matches to determine the fate of the universe. In the end, it might all come down to Timothy Page, humankind’s only representative in this hilarious romp of comedic proportions.
Blackpool and Parrish runs July 17-August 1, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM. Out of Box Theatre is located in the Artisan Resource Center at 585 Cobb Pkwy S, Marietta, 30060. Tickets are $17-$25 and can be purchased online at www.outofboxtheatre.com or by calling 678-653-4605.
