CALEA Inviting Public to Offer Comment Regarding the Cobb County Police Department

CALEA is the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive on Monday, November 28, 2016 to examine all aspects of the Cobb County Police Department to include policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The assessment team consists of law enforcement practitioners from similar (out of state) agencies. The assessors will review written materials, interview individuals, and visit offices and other places where compliance can be witnessed.

The goal of the team is to verify that the Cobb County Police Department meets the Commission’s state-of-the art standards as part of a voluntary process to maintain accreditation. (Being a nationally accredited agency is a highly sought after commitment to law enforcement excellence and best professional practices).
