Chalktoberfest 2015 at Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art
The popular arts festival will return to Marietta Square in October.

During Oct. 10th and 11th, 2015, Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art will present its annual Marietta Chalktoberfest. Chalktoberfest is a chalk art festival that will take place around Marietta Square and down Atlanta Street in front of the Museum.
This year, Chalktoberfest has continued to feature over 40 contracted, professional chalk artists from around the country. Artists will draw in front of spectators during both dates from 10a.m. to 5 p.m. Featured artists include renowned chalk artists: Nate Baranowski, Jennifer Chaparro, Dorothy Sabean, Wilie Zin, and more. Admission to MCMA will be free for the duration of the chalk festival. David Kessler, John Petrey, Issac Payne, and Portrait Society of Atlanta will be featured during this time.

On Saturday, Oct. 10th, Chalktoberfest will be expanding to include a beer festival along with the chalk festival. This year will include a “Local’s only” Craft Beer Festival that will allow you to walk around and enjoy the Chalk Art. There will be a selection of over 100 different kinds of craft beer.Tickets will go on sale for this portion of Chalktoberfest August 1st. The first 500 tickets will be $35, second 500 will be $45, then $50 at the gate. There will be a $75 VIP tickets that will allow you to have upgraded bathrooms, food and special craft beers. You will be able to visit local restaurants, try your hand at chalking your own square, and talk to professional artists from around the country. We will combine a great beer selection with live music and beautiful chalk art. Music will be playing all day and there will be a concert on the square featuring Departure: A Journey Tribute Band.
On Sunday, Oct. 11th, Chalktoberfest will include a kids craft-making section from 11AM - 5PM that will be geared toward children of all ages to try their hand at different crafts. We will also have an Antique Car Show and Competition from 11 AM - 5 PM. The professional Chalk area will be available to view until 8PM Sunday night. 2015’s competition will continue to offer both a youth division and an adult division. The adult competition winners will receive: $75 to First Place, $50 to Second Place, and $25 to Third Place. The youth division winners will also receive gift cards.

“Once you have seen this festival in person you will be hooked!” Sally Macaulay, Executive Director of MCMA, said. MCMA is expecting to have another grand turn out for Chalktoberfest and welcomes all returning and new visitors and artists.
