Cobb EMC Lowers Holiday Electric Bills

MARIETTA, GA -- Cobb EMC has announced plans to lower holiday electric bills through a credit on December bills. The average Cobb EMC household that uses 1,000 kWh each month will save $20 on their bill.

“This year’s power costs came in lower than expected, and the board and I are excited to pass those savings along directly to our consumers,” said Peter Heintzelman, president and CEO of Cobb EMC. “We’re always proud to offer low rates and value to those we serve, but it’s particularly important during the holidays.”

Effective December 1, the credits will bring the utility’s 200,000 consumers across Cobb, Cherokee, Fulton, Paulding and Bartow counties a total of $4.5 million in savings.

Cobb EMC is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative. The company delivers electricity to nearly 200,000 residential and commercial consumers in Cobb, Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton, and Paulding counties. Cobb EMC is one of the largest EMCs in the nation, and the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Gas South is a provider of natural gas in the Southeast.
