Cobb Explorers Win 5th Championship

When the scores were tallied in the annual Explorer State Competition, the Cobb County Police Explorers walked away with their their fifth consecutive state championship.
They competed in various scenarios, including a burgalry in progress and a felony traffic stop, according to a Facebook post and the Explorers website.
Cobb Explorers finished first and third in the active shooter scenario; first and second during the burglary in progress; first in the DUI/drugs category; second and third during the felony traffic stop; second in the officer down event; and first and second in the trouble unknown situation.

The Cobb County Police Explorers program was established in May 2004 "to help the young people in our community pursue their interest in law enforcement," according to the Explorers' website.
