Cobb Restaurant Inspections: 'Observed Wiping Cloths With Food Debris On Counter Tops'

COBB COUNTY, GA -- Do you really know how clean your favorite restaurant or coffee shop is? Sure, you love the food but it seems to taste better when you know what the score from their latest food inspection.

The state uses a point system in rating the food industry. Each item is valued between 1 and 9 on an inspection form. Points can be deducted (often shown in red) as well. More points can be taken based on the greater risk of sickness and repeat violations be mean even more subtracted from a restaurant's score.
Scores from 90 to 100 are signified by the letter A. From 89 to 80 is a B, from 79 to 70 is a C and a U is for less than 70.

• Inspector: "Observed Observed wiping cloths with visible food debris on counter tops in prep areas in main kitchen. CA: Wiping cloths should be stored in chemical sanitizer solution with appropriate concentration."
• "Observed handle of scooper in flour bin placed inside of flour. Observed scooper of jalapeno placed inside of jalapeno. CA: During pauses in food preparation or dispensing, food preparation and dispensing utensils shall be stored in the food with their handles above the top of the food and the container. COS: PIC moved handle out of food with handle over the top of the food container. Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation."
