Coronavirus Spike Forces Cobb Schools To Stop In-Person Classes
Cobb County School District announced it would cancel in-person classes for the last few days of fall semester, thanks to a COVID-19 surge.
COBB COUNTY, GA — Faced with a community surge in coronavirus cases, the Cobb County School District announced it would transition to all-remote learning for the last few days of fall semester.
Starting Thursday, all classes that would have been conducted in person will be held online only. Wednesday had already been set aside as a remote-learning day for all students.
“This was not an easy decision and we understand that this may be a difficulty for some of our families,” the district said in an announcement on its website. “Working collaboratively with Cobb & Douglas Public Health, this decision is intended to benefit our students, staff, and could help our entire community be safer and healthier over the holiday break.”
