One Of 2 Men Shot In East Cobb Remodeling Dispute Has Died

MARIETTA, GA -- One of the victims of a double shooting Wednesday afternoon in East Cobb County has died. Jake Allen Horne, 21, died Thursday from his injuries, family members have told Channel 2. The other victim, Gordon Montcolm, 38, remains in the hospital.

Larry Epstein, 68, is accused of shooting the men after a dispute over a home remodeling project turned violent Wednesday afternoon at Epstein's Wellington Lane home. Epstein, according to police, shot the men as they were leaving the home.

Epstein has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

Various local media outlets reported more than a dozen police and law enforcement vehicles on the scene, which is located near several prominent Cobb schools, including Walton High School. Police and SWAT officers were also reported on scene.
