EAST COBB, GA — A Marietta man who barricaded himself in his East Cobb home last fall, leading to a four-hour standoff with a SWAT team, remains in jail without bond Tuesday after being indicted on multiple felony counts by a grand jury.

According to incident reports and court documents, Cobb police arrived at the Kingsley Drive home of Donald Terry Welborn Jr., 57, on Sept. 22 after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. When Welborn responded by shooting at the officers, a SWAT team took over, authorities said. Welborn was arrested when he surrendered several hours later and charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and reckless conduct.

Welborn was indicted Thursday on nine counts of aggravated assault against a police officer, three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possessing a firearm while committing a felony, according to East Cobb News.
