East Cobb Woman Faces Theft Charge
At the urging of another person, she allegedly deposited fraudulent checks worth thousands into her checking account.

An East Cobb woman who allegedly deposited fraudulent checks into her checking account has been arrested.
Prior to the deposits, Breanna Nicole Baskin allegedly had a checking account balance of -$35.50, according to an arrest warrant.
During a 24-hour period, things changed, according to the warrant. Over the course of more than nine transactions on Aug. 4 and 5, Baskin allegedly deposited fraudulent checks worth $2,400Â into the checking account, according to the warrant.
Authorities said Baskin made the deposits at the Bank of America branch on Wade Green Road at the urging of another person who was working with her.
"Then, accused did withdraw $900 from her Bank of America checking account, making transactions, without limitation at ATM machines and at Publix," according to the warrant.
Baskin was arrested Monday evening on a charge of theft by taking. She was released from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
