Fire Destroys East Cobb Home In New Bedford Subdivision

A fire that an eyewitness said hit a grill's propane tank destroyed an East Cobb home early Monday morning, according to authorities.

EAST COBB, GA — A fire early Monday morning destroyed a house in the New Bedford subdivision off Lower Roswell Road.

The two-story home on New Bedford Drive was ruled a “total loss,” a spokesperson for Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services told Patch via email. Everybody made it out safely, he added.

Although the exact cause of the fire is still investigation, East Cobb News reported an eyewitness account that suggested the blaze “likely hit a propane tank” on a grill on the back porch.

The fire “got fast around 2:30 a.m.,” said the eyewitness.
