GA Coronavirus: ICU Beds Statewide Almost 80 Percent Full

Monday's coronavirus statistics from Georgia's health department showed steady numbers and most intensive-care beds already occupied.

ATLANTA, GA — The Georgia Department of Public Health in Atlanta reported a total of 374,181 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at 2:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9. According to the health department’s website, that includes 1,111 newly confirmed cases over the last 24 hours.

Georgia also reported 8,223 deaths so far from COVID-19, with 29 more deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. In addition, the state reported 32,483 hospitalizations — 15 more than the day before — and 6,097 admissions so far to intensive-care units. The percentage of ICU beds statewide in use continues to hover at about 80 percent.

Coronavirus statistics posted over the weekend are typically lower than they might be otherwise because of lags in reporting.
