Georgia Weather: Snow This Weekend And On MLK Day?
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for metro Atlanta, as warm rainy days turn to freezing cold.

ATLANTA, GA — It warmed up, but started raining. Now, in metro Atlanta, forecasters say the rain is finally going to stop soon, but temperatures are going to plunge back down to below freezing.
And, before Martin Luther King Jr. Day is over, we could even get some snow.
Friday is going to be another rainy day as temperatures begin to dip. The National Weather Service is calling for showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, in metro Atlanta before 3 p.m., then more showers. By 5 p.m., the temperature is expected to be back down to 50 and, by Friday night, we're looking at a low temperature of 28.

The weather service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for north Georgia for Friday night, saying cold air on the back side of the storm system we've been experiencing could bring light sleet and snow showers after 10 p.m. and freeze over wet roadways.
It will also be windy on Friday as the cold hits, with gusts as high as 25 m.p.h. during the day and 30 m.p.h. at night.

The skies will clear this weekend. But after a forecast high of 62 degrees on Friday, the temperature is only expected to get up to 38 on Saturday, with a low Saturday night of a frigid 23 degrees. Sunday should be mostly the same, with a high of 40 and low of 25.
Then, as many folks in the city Martin Luther King Jr. called home head out to observe the day on Monday, the NWS says we should have sunny skies, although it will be a bit cold. And, Monday night, there's a slight chance of rain and snow after 1 a.m.
So, don't miss your chance to enjoy another long weekend. and remember the man it honors. Just plan on bundling up when you do.

Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3 p.m., then showers likely. Temperature falling to around 50 by 5 p.m. South wind 10-15 m.p.h. becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Friday night, a chance of rain showers before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of flurries between 10 p.m. and midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northwest wind 15-20 m.p.h., with gusts as high as 30 m.p.h. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Northwest wind 15-20 m.p.h, with gusts as high as 30 m.p.h. Mostly clear Saturday night, with a low around 23.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 40. Partly cloudy Sunday night, with a low around 25.
M.L. King Day: Sunny, with a high near 46. Monday night, a slight chance of rain and snow after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
