"Gone With the Wind," Found in a Barn
Ever wanted to visit Tara? Well, you may have the chance in a few years.

A piece of movie history and an icon of Georgia’s cultural heritage has been rediscovered inside a barn in Henry County.
The set of Tara, the fictional plantation at the heart of the Margaret Mitchell novel turned Hollywood masterpiece ”Gone With the Wind,” was recently discovered inside a disused cattle barn, WSB-TV says. According to the station, the wife of former Georgia Sen. Herman Talmadge bought the set after it was disposed of in the 1950s and stowed it away in the barn.
Peter Bonner, the man who re-discovered Tara is hoping to restore it to its former glory and give fans of the book and the movie the unique opportunity to visit the old plantation. To follow Bonner’s progress, visit his “Saving Tara” Facebook page.
