Johnson Ferry Road Project Opens in Sandy Springs

The project also is aimed at improving travel times for East Cobb commuters.

U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (R-East Cobb) cut the ribbon Monday on the much-anticipated Johnson Ferry/Abernathy Road widening project in Sandy Springs.

The project widens Abernathy Road by adding two more lanes from Johnson Ferry Road to Roswell Road. It also includes four-foot bike lanes, eight-foot sidewalks, and is divided by a raised median.

Once completed, the project is said to relieve congestion and provide better travel times for thousands of motorists on a daily basis.
