Lassiter Senior Wins Major Scholarship From Kimberly-Clark
Alli Hoying of Lassiter High School is one of two seniors from the north metro to win college scholarships from Kimberly-Clark.

EAST COBB, GA — Two north metro high-school seniors — one of them from Lassiter High School — have received college scholarships worth up to $20,000 each from Kimberly-Clark.
Alli Hoying, a senior at Lassiter and the daughter of Jim and Denise Hoying, will use her 2021 Bright Futures Scholarship to study biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University. In addition to being a National Merit Commended Scholar and a Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient, Hoying is a varsity runner for track and cross country, a student leader for Sources of Strength, and a volunteer at Bosley’s Place and Habitat for Humanity.
Also receiving a scholarship is Sarah Snowden, a senior at Fidelis Christian School in Cumming, who plans to study occupational therapy at the University of Georgia. Both Hoying and Snowden live near Roswell, where Kimberly-Clark has an operations headquarters.

Established in 1993, the Bright Futures program is administered by the Kimberly-Clark Foundation and awards college scholarships to children of Kimberly-Clark employees across North America. Recipients are selected based on their academic performance, extracurricular activities, work experience and community involvement.
Each scholarship is worth up to $20,000 — $5,000 per year for up to four years — for full-time students studying at accredited colleges and universities. This year, scholarships totaling $960,000 were awarded to 48 students. Since its inception, the Bright Futures program has granted over $45 million in scholarships to more than 2,250 students.
