In Loving Memory of Betty Jean Tanner McPhail, 84

Betty Jean Tanner McPhail, 84, of Marietta passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta with Monsignor John Walsh officiating. Interment will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.

Betty Jean studied nursing at Crawford Long School of Nursing. She worked at Kennestone Hospital in the Coronary Care Unit for thirty years. Betty Jean attended faithfully with Stan, St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and crafts.

Survivors include her husband, Stan McPhail; two daughters, Cathy McPhail Broadwater and her husband, Barry Broadwater of Ellijay, Karen McPhail Irvin and her husband, Col. Victor D. Irvin of Chattanooga, TN; son, Stan McPhail of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Christopher Broadwater, Keith Broadwater and his wife, Kathleen, Kyle Irvin, and Brandon Irvin; brother, Middleton D. Tanner and his wife, Gloria.

Contributions may be made in loving memory of Betty Jean to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy Ste. 1 Marietta, GA 30067 or to the Alzheimer’s Assocation, 41 Perimeter Center E. Ste. 550 Atlanta, GA 30346.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.
