In Loving Memory of Bonnie Sampson Lewis, 100

Obituary and service information from Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.

Bonnie Sampson Lewis, age 100, passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2015.

She was born in Young Harris, GA, one of nine children of Asbury and Lula Sampson. She and her husband, Jess, moved to Marietta in 1943. Through the years, she worked for Dunaway Drugs, Marietta City Schools and Roswell Street Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly.

Survivors include her sister, May Wimpy, her daughter, Joye Royal (Jack) and son, Bobby Lewis (Laura). She was the proud grandmother of Dayna Syverson (Steve), Denise Etheridge (Wendell), Mary Leslie Brigdon (Jeff), and Sarah Miller (Jason), and great-grandmother of Dylan Syverson, Sydney Syverson, Blake Lenane, Andrea Carroll (Philip), Jordan Etheridge, Hayes Brigdon, Reid Brigdon and Mathis Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Jess D. Lewis.

She was a woman of great faith, and a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church for 65 years. Services will be held at Mayes-Ward Funeral Home, Historic Marietta Chapel on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill Camp officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Roswell Street Baptist Church.
