In Loving Memory of Mildred Anderson Harris, 88

Mildred Anderson Harris, age 88 of Marietta, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Graveside Services 11:00 am at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.

Mildred was born in Vonore, Tennessee on November 14, 1926 to Leonard and Lulu Hancock. A native of Maryville, TN, she graduated from Maryville High School, attended Maryville College and East Tennessee State University.

She later met and married her husband, Robert B. Harris. They were married for 67 years until his passing in 2003.

A career opportunity with Lockheed Aircraft Corporation brought them to Marietta where Mildred worked as a kindergarten teacher and later retired as paraprofessional teacher for Marietta City schools.

Mildred was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a charter member of John Knox Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed, bowling, playing bridge with friends, camping, and traveling with life-long friends, Paul and Beverly Grubb.

She is survived by daughters, Susan Harris Tibbitts (Steve) of Marietta and Beverly Harris Blades (Milton) of Acworth; grandchildren, Jennifer Tibbitts Shook (Marc) of LaGrange and Memrie-Ann Tibbitts Graves (David) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Carson Braswell (Katie) and Forrest Braswell both of Kennesaw; and five great-grandchildren.
