In Loving Memory of Rachel Flo Black, 94

Rachel Flo Black, 94, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, GA. Mimi, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was born April 12, 1921 in Cochran, Georgia.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, GA with Rev. Sam Storey, Sr. officiating. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Mimi was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Milton Black, son in law Bill David, and grandson Ken Kreikemeier.
Mimi came to Marietta with her husband in 1946 where they owned and operated Sno White Laundry for more than 26 years. She was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and an active resident of Atherton Place where she could often be found telling anyone who would listen about her three children, Wyndell Black (BJ), Buddy Black (Lu), and Marcelle David, her eight grandchildren Wendy Maxwell (Wayne), Mendy White (Jim), Cendy, Lee Black (Ray), Brian Black, Heidi Kreikemeier (Tony), Skot Scott, Brad David (Sidney); eleven great-grandchildren Austin and Chandler Maxwell, Trey, Haley and Madison White, Alisa Houston (Robert), Hamilton Black, MacKenzie Lu and Kenny Kreikemeier, Maggie and Emmie David; and great-great granddaughter Brynlee Houston and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mimi was a marvelous cook and cherished making her family and friends homemade treats, relishes, dumplings and her world famous fried chicken dinners. Mimi had a green thumb and always had beautiful orchids and African violets, loved fishing, and all types of sports.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Wellstar Hospice-Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta.
Family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
