In Loving Memory of William James "Jim" Jenkins, 82

William James “Jim” Jenkins, 82, passed away on December 31, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. Jim was born in Trafford, Pennsylvania, to Arthur and Mamie Jenkins. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. After leaving the Navy, Jim was employed by the General Electric Company and retired after 33 years. He went on to work for the Thomson Company and the Whirlpool Corporation and later retired from both. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling with his wife Jeanine and spending time with his beloved family and large circle of friends. He was a long-time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with his warm smile and a funny story to brighten someone’s day. He will always be remembered for his deep love and devotion to his family and dear friends.
Jim is survived by his cherished wife of 56 years, Jeanine, his son, Tim, daughter-in-law, Danielle, and granddaughter, Ryleigh. He is also survived by his brother, Arthur, brothers-in-law, Arthur Whittier (Priscilla), Charles Whittier (Melanie), Cary Whittier (Debbie), sister-in-law, Wanda Collins (Fred), nieces Raymi Mathis (Heinz) and Carrie Simpson, nephew Kurt Simpson (Linda), many other nieces and nephews, and countless friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Doris Simpson, and her husband Raymond.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9th from 12 - 2 pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 244 Kurtz Rd., Marietta, Georgia. Pastor Mark Nugent will lead us in a celebration of Jim’s life immediately following at 2pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 11th at 1pm at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton Georgia 30114.
