UPDATED: Mt. Bethel UMC Not Opening Doors Tuesday Night
The church cited the possibility of hazardous roads due to the winter storm weather.

Updated, Tuesday, 10:35 a.m.
Mt. Bethel has just announced that the church will NOT be opening its doors Tuesday night due to the possibility of hazardous road conditions.ÂThe church and others in the East Cobb area transport the homeless to Mt. Bethel on buses and vans.Â
Check for updates on the Mt. Bethel Facebook page and its Opening Our Doors ministry.
Original story, Monday, 8:10 p.m.
As it has done on some very cold nights already this winter, East Cobb's Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church will be taking in the homeless Tuesday and Wednesday.ÂTemperatures are expected to dip into the teens both nights as a winter storm advisory is in effect in the metro Atlanta area.Â
The church reported today that its most pressing need is for 50 inflatable beds that are twin size and regular depth, not double height.Â
Mt. Bethel regularly updates the situation on its Facebook page and here's a link to its Opening Our Doors ministry with more details of supplies and other needs for taking in the homeless, including volunteer shifts.Â
Mt. Bethel is located at 4385 Lower Roswell Road. To donate items please come to the Church Activities Center located behind the Christian Academy.Â
