NYPD Cop Shooting Suspect Had Active Warrants in Cobb County
Police arrestesd Ismaaiyl Brinsley at least 19 times in Georgia and Ohio between 2004 and 2010.

The man accused of fatally shooting two police officers in their squad car in Brooklyn Saturday had a long criminal history in Georgia and had active warrants out of Cobb County.
28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley had at least 19 arrests in Georgia and Ohio and spent two years in prison for gun possession, The Associated Press reports.
According to Fulton county Jail records, Brinsley was booked nine times between 2004 and 2010for various offenses including carrying a concealed weapon, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, possession of a knife during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, simple battery, terroristic threats and theft by shoplifting.

Brinsley also reportedly had active warrants out of Cobb County for probation violation related to theft, firearm possession and criminal property damage charges, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Though authorities say Brinsley had some ties to Brooklyn, his last-known address was in Georgia.
Brinsley shot and wounded his ex-girlfriend around 6 a.m. Saturday at her home outside Baltimore before traveling to Brooklyn and firing four shots into a squad car, killing Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu. Brinsley then ran into a nearby subway and committed suicide, The Associated Press reports.
